It’s not often that you come across two clubs from different affiliations, joining together to host a meeting…but this weekend just goes to show what can come of clubs making sensible decisions to benefit the riders! 

Tain was the destination this weekend for round one of the Scottish Motocross Nationals and a great weekend was had by all!

SXS Racing headed back to Champs Park on the outskirts of Kettering at the weekend but this time for round two of the MCF sanctioned British SXS Enduro Championship.

Round one of the 2016 Maxxis UK National Flat Track Championships put on by the DTRA (Dirt Track Riders Association) series held at Rye House Speedway kicked off the season in style. With the largest numbers of entrants to date, sunny dry weather and an amazing day of racing it produced a spectacular opening event.

Congratulations to Portsmouth rider Mitch Young, who competes in the MX2 class for the club, for becoming the latest Shaun Simpson Rider of the Meeting of 2016 after his impressive performance at the club’s second round at West Meon in March.

After a long and frustrating winter full of rain almost every-day of every week it was great for some better weather to have finally arrived so that South West motocross club could begin their long awaited 2016 summer championship!

The weather turned kind and Portsmouth MX Club were able to host the next round of their summer championship, following the postponement the week prior.  With so many other meetings going on, the club did surprisingly well and attracted 180 riders to the chalky Swanmore circuit.  A few adjustments had been made but the slippery surface caught a number of riders out, but a great day of racing with three full blocks run and the final chequered flag being waved at 4.20pm!!

As the gates dropped to the start of our 2016 championship, the weatherman told us it would be sunny! How wrong was he!! Despite the rainy start and muddy patches signing on opened to mark the start of the season, with over 200 riders racing throughout the weekend.

Kawasaki UK will be running the Team Green League for the second consecutive season in 2016 in conjunction with the MC Federation (MCF).
