Scottish MX Nationals take off!
Tain was the destination this weekend for round one of the Scottish Motocross Nationals and a great weekend was had by all!
The meeting was run by Caithness and Borders club and it was the first time that the new changes for 2016 were implemented. All classes competed on the same day, as opposed to the two day split that the championship saw last year and this proved to be a great success. A brilliant track, provided to us by Peter Mackenzie made for some very entertaining racing from a great bunch of riders and although there were a few who came away with some injuries (wishing you all a speedy recovery!) it was a top-notch meeting.
Thanks to everyone for all their help with getting everything organised and running smoothly. An extra special thanks to John Mackay Ltd and SID Building Services for donating the trophies, TWMA for donating the prize money to the Expert class, Doyce Carriers for sponsoring the holeshot prize throughout all classes and races, and of course the officials, marshals, timekeepers, lapscorers, start team, gate keepers and everyone else who contributes…without you guys the day wouldn’t have happened!
We can now all look forward to Round 2 of the Scottish MX Nationals which will take place on the 8th of May at Elgin, run by Grampian Club.
