Ringwood Rockets Rock Rogers Hill

Sunday 12th July saw Ringwood MXC take to the track at the popular West Dorset venue. Danny Hall and his team prepared an awesome track and were helped by slow rain throughout the day.

First out were the combined Vets and Supervets. These boys have a combined age close to a lottery ticket but when the gate drops, they roll back the years to provide some of the most exciting and competitive racing around. One rider who showed all of his experience to beat all comers was veteran Rob Samways with a hat trick of wins. With a brace of seconds and a fifth Sandy Palmer stormed home to second overall. Luke Deway was not going to be easily beaten and his 3rd, sixth and second places saw him claim third. Lewis Scard steered his bike home for fourth. Pete "skevdog" Skevington got better in each moto to take fifth with Pete Barnes completing the top six placings.

Riding alongside their younger counterparts, the Supervets will not give an inch, although they may have gained a few over the years!! The impressive Simon Molter raced hard all day to take the top step. Closely followed by Mark Gale who had it not been for a slightly below par finish in race two, may have taken the top step from Molter. Fresh from a mid-season break, Carl Robinson took third and had it not been for an off in race one, he too would have been challenging for a better overall position. Shane Trotter kept his sights on the riders ahead of him for fourth. Seasoned campaigner Mick Cutler took fifth with Triss Macy using his knowledge to make up the top six.

With two wins and a second place Perry Hiller is the man inform in the adult B group. A less than ideal finish in the first moto followed up by two better results saw Ricky Grimson claim second. Never finishing outside of the top six, Nathan Ellis earned enough points for third.

Lewis Robinson is another rider in form at the moment and his second and two sixth place finishes saw him grab fourth. Alex Handleys' s dropped points in moto 2 saw him gather enough points for fifth and Ryan Squibb kept at it all day for a sixth overall.

The flying rookies were the next to show their skills. Sam Lycett appears to improve week on week and with two wins and a second he brought his 125 Husqvarna home in the Gold Medal position, However, he was not have it all his own way as Harry Pritchard went  1 2 3 for the Silver. Kieran York pushed the top two in all races for a well-deserved bronze finish. Leon Read was not far off the top boys for fourth and Piers Stanley and Owen Cutler pushed each other hard to chase down the leaders for fifth and sixth places.

They may be little people on little bikes but the Ringwood Auto group have huge amounts of determination and skill. In what is becoming the status quo, Henry Life beat all other competitors in all three races for maximum points. There was not much between Ben Sullivan and York Coleman but it was Sullivan’s two second place finishes that saw him take the higher finish from third placed Coleman. Riley Saunders showed why he will soon be a force to be reckoned with by claiming fourth. Jayden Westcott and Conner Williams kept charging hard and were rewarded with fifth and sixth places respectively.

Riding together 33 small and big wheel 85 riders lined up. Despite being on a  The smaller wheels machine, Harvey James finished in the overall top six of each race and accumulated more pints that all other small wheel competitors to take the honours. Second place in this group was Jason Downes and he was kept on his toes by the storming Billy Collins. Jo Leyland was never intimidated and cruised home to fourth. Jude Morris displayed his skills to take fifth and a last moto off for Travis Reynolds saw him drop points to finish sixth.

Their big wheel counterparts had one rider to beat but Louis Thomas was in no mood to let anybody pass him and with 3 race wins he claimed maximum points for the overall. Charlie Razzell was consistent in his pursuit of Thomas with 3 second place finishes. Thomas Shutler was another who pushed all day and was rewarded with third place. Tobias Sammut came home fourth ahead of Rebecca Newham who was the highest placed female

rider of the day. Noah Davis completed a competitive and fast top six big wheel group.

The Junior Group, buoyed by a number of visitors were the penultimate group to enter the fray. Shay Arnold dropped points in race two with a rare fall but with his two wins and a fifth he claimed top spot. Next to chase Arnold home was Callum Clark who is showing improvement week on week. Following his overall win at the previous round, Aiden Trott had to settle for third. Harvey Tanner had a mixed day with one race win, a 5th and a 7th to gather enough points for fourth. Kyle Burt is another knocking on the door each week and he took fifth. The top six was completed by Brandon Hartnell.

Last but by no means least, the ever impressive Adult A group went at it from the moment the gate dropped. Leading the way with a clean sweep of Moto wins was Josh Coleman. Scott Newham swept home in second by finishing no lower than fourth in his 3 races. Another rider who didn't finish outside of the top six was Ed Mountjoy who took the bronze medal position. Fourth place was Joe Butler closely followed by Louis Le Moignan - Parker and rounding out the top six was Robert Giles.
