Return of The Vale!

This bank-holiday weekend saw the return of The Vale MXC as complete with new organisers and an affiliation to the MCF, the club took to Leisure Lakes, Southport and put on one mega meeting to kick off their 2016 Championship season with a bang!

There has been a lot of hype surrounding the meeting following a huge push on re-inventing the club and creating a fresh new outlook for their events and the weekend didn’t disappoint.

Even though the weather leading up to the weekend was questionable, come Saturday morning the track was looking prime for a couple of days of superb racing. Some serious hard-work from the team throughout the day (and Saturday night!) meant that an almost full weekend of racing was had and the only surrender came when the track was hit with thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon! Still only one block of racing was cancelled and there was still plenty of time for some standout performances, notably from the youth riders, with Joe Howards on fire in the 65’s taking a win and Dee Jay Walker dominating on Saturday in the hotly contested rookie class.

It’s not just the on-track antics that the vale have been pushing to improve on. Aside from the racing there is so much more that goes into organising a great Motocross meeting and The Vale have outdone themselves off-track too. With everyone commenting how the meeting had the feeling of a National Event, all the hard work paid off. With entry free for spectators, numbers were high and this alongside the race commentator and start-line music added to the prestige of the event, whilst the clubs brand new merchandise and of course the free bouncy castle for kids proved to be a big hit! And all of the above will be back in action in just over a weeks-time when the club head to Barnoldswick for rounds 3 and 4 on the 9th and 10th of April! Now’s the time to get booked in to go bar to bar with The Vale riders! Even if you don’t ride there’s still plenty of entertainment and it’s free for spectators!

A top-class atmosphere with some impressive and competitive racing. With a great new look and some incredible support, it certainly looks like The Vale could be leading the way!
