Bradley Hooper (1998-2014)

Statement on behalf of PMXC and the MC Federation

"Both the Portsmouth Motocross Club and the MC Federation wishes to extend its sincere sympathies to the family of Bradley Hooper following the conclusion of the inquest into his death.  We can only imagine the turmoil that the Hooper family have had to endure through this process.  Bradley is sorely missed by everyone at the club and we will always remember him fondly. Our thoughts are with the Siddiqui family who have also been put through this ordeal, and to all who have been involved since the tragic incident.

Following the Coroners verdict of accidental death in the Winchester Coroners Court, and as part of the delivery of his verdict, the Coroner has made recommendations regarding the marshalling of motocross events. We have listened to these and will continue to do everything in our power to ensure that future events are as safe as possible for all our riders and members. These recommendations that the MCF, in conjunction with the Club, will be looking into over the coming weeks are with regards to some minor alterations to event procedures.  Once completed these will be communicated to all of the MCF affiliated clubs and officials in due course. The MCF are grateful to the Hooper family and the Portsmouth Club for the manner in which they have handled this delicate matter from day one and we now look forward to working with the club over the remainder of this season and coming seasons.

On behalf of the Chairman of Portsmouth Motocross Club, thank you to all the Officials and the Club’s Committee who have acted impeccably on the day of this tragedy, before, during and after the event “and for that I thank them deeply".

There will be no further comment."
